Microsoft launches an AI-powered search engine; the tools billions of people use every day, and also a new version of Edge web browser that integrates AI technologies on February 7, 2023. It was launched a day after Google announced Bard which is considered as the rival of ChatGPT.
This version of Bing will be very user-friendly and will help in doing things like summarizing search results, interacting with AI Chatbots to get answers to their questions and the ability to generate content. In this user can type their queries in a conversational form.
This upgraded version uses ChatGPT technology and its own Microsoft Prometheus model. So Microsoft has not completely changed and can be used as before just has been enhanced with AI. The Bing experience is still limited and to get the full version of it user must join the waitlist. The Edge has updated a new and different look. Now it has round corners and a fluid user interface.
The Bing chat interface is available on the right side of Edge. Bing version is way more updated then ChatGPT bot, which was trained in 2021. It takes key learning and advancements from ChatGPT and GPT 3.5 which makes it faster, more accurate and more capable.

When you search for answers, Microsoft will display ChatGPT based results in a box on the right side of the search results page in the new Bing. Bing links its sources to “learn more” section after the answer is completed. Every result will have a feedback option. It includes a chat button in its toolbar which has two functionalities, chat and compose, which you can combine to summarize lengthy web content, run comparisons, or even create content.
According to Satya Nadella, Microsoft Chairman and CEO, “AI will fundamentally change every software category, starting with the largest category of all-search”. Microsoft gets almost 10 billion search queries a day, but half of them goes answered, so this interface will help to answer more complex questions.
The interface has all brought together search, browsing and chat. This can also help to generate unique contents for bloggers. This launch is limited to a ‘desktop preview’ as of now. You need to visit https://www.bing.com/new and sign in to a Microsoft account to join the waiting list to access the Bing Search.
To jump the waiting list, Microsoft said that, you can setup Bing as your default search engine on your computer, and scan the shown QR code to download the Bing Search App on your smartphone.
